In summary - export you caches if you want to keep them or have no need to resimulate ( if you’re focusing on materials or rendering say). then added to each a Mesh Cache Modifier and assigned the related pc2 file. On the RIGHT, I duplicated the meshes of the torso, shirt and cape, deleted all modifiers ( including the armature on the torso) and all the sims. All three of these together came in at 8Mb. HOWEVER, I discovered that you cannot change anything about the two sims - not even rename the meshes - without the caches failingįinally, I exported as individual pc2 files the shirt sim the cape sim and the Manequinn. It saved the cache to an external folder of Blenders naming ( in the same place the Blender file exists) which came in at 19Mb. At this point if you save the blender file all is fine. This did the sims on BOTH pieces of cloth at the same time. In the cloth panel I selected Disc cache and then Bake all dynamics:

The manequinn torso has collision too but is a rigged mesh with an armature and simple animation. You can download by going to their website. On the LEFT side: In this example the Shirt and Cape are 2 separate meshes each with a cloth sim. The program that is used in this course is Blender 3D.īlender 3D is a free open source program that allows you to create literally anything on the computer! If you want to learn about the cloth simulation or want to improve your Blender skills this course is for you! So hit that enroll button and lets get started! We will be using the new feature in Blender 2.82 called pressure and learning how to animate it. The second tutorial will be a balloon exploding simulation.

From there we will simulate it, add textures and render it out! In this section we will be importing a couch model that I am giving away in this course. The first one being a blanket falling on a couch. We will also jump into Blender version 2.82 and learning about a new feature called Internal Springs and Pressure.įinally the last 2 sections will be complete tutorials. After that I will be showing you how you can have multiple cloth objects interact with each other, how collision objects work and more. In the first couple sections we will be going through how the simulation works and what the settings do. Simulations are very confusing and sometimes hard to understand so I created this course so that you will know exactly how to use the cloth simulation and what the functions are. Hello everyone and welcome to the Cloth Simulation Guide in Blender 2.8! In this course you will learn all about the cloth simulation and how it works in Blender.
